There is a dessert that every year I cannot wait to make – and this is it. Yup, I wait all year long for this and let me tell you – it’s worth it. It also happens to have been one of the holiday favorites at my Santa Monica, California restaurant, The Beach House – so it’s a bit nostalgic too. Aaawwwww who am I kidding – I LOVE this most rich, decadent, gooey, chocolaty, lip smackin, piece of holiday heaven and can barely remember what I did yesterday let alone when I was a fancy-shmancy restaurateur.
Yes, this scrumptious and delectable old fashioned dessert has a away of inflicting amnesia – especially when it comes to how many helpings one’s had. The extra touch of mashed candy cane ice cream is what gets most people. But for all you who can remember – this is for you. And for all who have yet to experience the famous Toffee Soaked Brownie with Candy-Cane Ice Cream, you’re welcome!
This recipe can be made ahead of time from a box or from scratch. Use quality ingredients to start and you’ll have the best most delicious results. Bonus Tip: I substitute regular oil or butter for the healthier option of coconut oil and add a 1/4 cup of molasses for an even richer and gooier texture.
The Toffee Soaked Brownie is the perfect holiday dessert; low maintenance, easy to whip up, fun to make, insanely delicious – Now you’ll have yet another reason to be excited for the holidays. XO ~ L
Watch my little Santa’s helper and me whipping up a batch – see just how easy it is!
