I’m excited to announce my role as
the Official Correspondent of the Orange Tuesday Tour!

The Orange Tuesday Tour is a 10 city, 60+ day (Sept 2nd-Nov 4th 2014) coast to coast celebration presented by BuyCostumes, living their motto “Life Is Better In Costume” – they would know, is the leading online costume retailer around the world!


After the success of last year’s first Orange Tour, BuyCostumes will be kicking off the Halloween season for the second time, with a huge campaign featuring live and virtual events, collaborations, sweepstakes, parties, partnerships with UNICEF, home and lifestyle expert Sandra Lee, as well as brands nationwide, showcasing the spirit of Halloween.

Besides the fact that I’ll be traveling to fun cities, starting with the kickoff party at BuyCostumes headquarters in New Berlin Wisconsin – I’ll be bringing you the latest news and video clips from the Orange Tour, the hottest costume trends, interviewing tastemakers, experts and costume enthusiasts.  I’ll also have the privilege to bring you the heart and soul of BuyCostumes as they and their Orange Ambassadors rally in a movement to give back.

Their partnership with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF allows them to donate costumes and cash to children in nearby communities and schools and support UNCEF’s mission of improving and protecting children’s rights around the world – amen.

Each Tuesday, special Orange Ambassadors across the country will be conducting random acts of kindness, distributing Costume Cash and tasty freebies thanks to brand partners, Pirate’s Booty, Jones Soda and Home Run Inn Pizza. Now that’s a pretty darn good reason to dress up!


This all wraps up at a giant party on October 30th in Rockaway Beach, New York!  Hosted by BuyCostumes, Sandra Lee and UNICEF, this event not only marks the end of the tour (not the fun) but gives the community of Sandy an opportunity to pay forward the kindness and generosity bestowed on them 2 years ago when their town was struck by a devastating hurricane leaving residents homeless and lives ruined.

This is why Jennifer Dominiquini, Chief Marketing Officer of BuyCostumes, calls Halloween a “movement, not a moment” – she wants to give Halloween fans even more to celebrate this year.

I am truly honored to be a part of this Orange Tour – and actually find it slightly ironic as I have never really liked Halloween…that much, that is, except for the candy, especially the Reeses and Snickers (find out why in October’s blog).  Now here I am – healed from my childhood Halloween trauma, thrilled to be a part of not just a campaign to make life more fun, but a cause to make the lives of children in need that much better!
